Stephen B. Humphrey Theater | Saint John’s University

You’re Invited

Join us for the premiere of Something to Smile About, a documentary created by Benedictine Volunteer Corps alumni Sam Rengo and Peyton Reece.

This film tells the story of their time in Nairobi, Kenya — where art, community, and resilience intersect in powerful and unexpected ways. Through relationships built in the Mathare community, the documentary captures moments of joy, struggle, and creativity that reveal what it means to live with dignity and hope.

A social worker, a basketball player, and an artist navigate life in Mathare, Kenya - Africa's second largest slum, reminding us that even though life is unfair, there's always Something to Smile About.
