CSB Community Kitchen
Experience and Professional Development Office
Thank you for your interest in the CSB Community Kitchen! Community Kitchen is a program on campus that addresses food waste, hunger, and sustainable food systems in our community. Our innovative approach redistributes the salvageable food from Gorecki to those experiencing food insecurity, while simultaneously reducing food waste on campus.

As a Community Kitchen volunteer, you will join a cohesive team of fellow students dedicated to community engagement and social, environmental, and economic justice. You will work with our Operations Leaders to deliver surplus food to the meal site, serve the meals, and join in the meal and conversation with community members.*

*Volunteers do not need to have a personal vehicle, as our Operations Leaders will drive to all meal delivery sites from campus.

After signing up, one of our Co-Student Directors will contact you with shift-specific details.

At your shift, please remember to wear closed-toe shoes and long pants and to tie back your hair.

*In the event you are no longer able to attend your shift, please notify [email protected] at least 24 hours in advance.

Please add your CSBSJU email address.

May we share your number with Operations Leaders (our volunteer shift leaders)?

Select a Shift! More shifts will be added soon!

The CSB/SJU community is dedicated to removing barriers and creating a more accessible environment for individuals with disabilities.

Any student with a documented disability (or who suspects they may have a disability) is encouraged to contact our Disability Services Office (320.363.5160 or [email protected]) to discuss possible accommodations or environmental modifications.
