Collegebound 2025 Participant Application

This form is for incoming first-year and transfer students arriving at CSB and SJU who want to apply for Collegebound 2025. Collegebound is an outdoor orientation program intended to help participants make friends, explore the many recreational opportunities available to students, and connect with older students who are able to offer guidance on succeeding in college. Collegebound 2025 programming will run August 14-19th, and includes two options, Collegebound Expedition and Collegebound Basecampus, described below.

Collegebound Expedition

If spending 4 days and 3 nights traveling through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness as a member of a small group (No more than 9 people) sounds like something you might enjoy, then Collegebound Expedition might be for you! Participants will experience pristine lakes, remote campsites, some of the best nighttime stars in the country, and all the rugged beauty this Minnesota wilderness has to offer. Participants will learn to canoe, cook their own camp meals, portage, and camp, all while building relationships with their peers and group leaders.

Collegebound Basecampus

A new addition this summer, Collegebound Basecampus allows participants to explore outdoor opportunities closer to campus. Rock climbing at The Wall and at Quarry Park and Nature Preserve, canoeing on the Sauk River and Lake Satagan, and one night of camping at Watab Campground on the Saint John's campus are some of the activities participants will enjoy. If you want to make friends, learn from your group leaders, and explore local opportunities while sleeping in a real bed, having access to regular showers, and eating in campus dining halls, then you might want to choose Basecampus!

Both programs have a registration fee of $450, which covers the costs of housing, food, transportation, and all necessary equipment including tents, canoes, climbing harnesses, Boundary Waters permits, and more.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and outdoor education staff will do their best to respond to participants as soon as possible.
